KEF has been obsessing over sound quality since the 1960s, and Brogue has long admired their ability to blend high quality sound, cutting edge style and world class collaborations. In the past few years we’ve enjoyed Porsche Design headphones and Ross Lovegrove Bluetooth speakers, but today sees the launch of Nocturne, Marcel Wander’s reinterpretation of the exceptional KEF LS50 wireless speaker. It’ll no doubt get dubbed the Star Wars Speaker, for its Death Star aesthetic, but, this, KEF assured us at the launch in Amsterdam, is mere coincidence. Inside remains the same, which means class-leading sound, four DACs (one for each amplifier), and hi-res 192kHz/24-bit streaming. Bold, with subtle glow in the dark markings, a circular motif and unmatched sound quality, Brogue can’t help but be a little seduced by the dark side.
