Not content with replacing the traditional watch crown with its Ressence Orbital Convex System (ROCS), the Belgian watchmaker has done it again with a supremely innovative new timepiece, the Type 2 e-Crown. Combining all the best parts of conventional and connected timekeeping, it’s powered both by the natural movement of your wrist and photovoltaic cells concealed beneath discreet micro-shutters. The upside: you need only set the time once – either manually or using a Bluetooth-connected app – with accuracy maintained to the nearest second. The downside? You’ll have to wait until the end of the year for concept to become reality.
