The original Ruark MR1 Bluetooth speakers were seriously impressive, so we’re expecting even greater things from the new MR1 Mk2, and after an exclusive first listen, Brogue can testify things have only got better. Updated with new fabric grilles they come in either Rich Walnut or the subtle Soft Grey finish. Controls and inputs have been updated with a three pin LED indicator light, CD quality aptX Bluetooth and both 3.5mm aux-in and, significantly, a new optical input, meaning you can hook them up to your TV and transform the sound quality. Speaking of which, the Mk2 builds on the high standard set by the original. The 75mm neodymium woofers and 20mm neodymium tweeters remain the same as the original, but the loudspeaker crossover has been tweaked to further enhance the size-defying sound.
