As good as modern TVs tend to look these days – from barely there frames to the bare minimum of cables – there’s still that large void of black space staring back at you every time you switch off. Until Samsung introduced its latest gallery of QLED screens, that is. The benchmark technology behind these flagship models is ‘Ambient Mode,’ which lets the TV blend in with its surroundings by displaying an image that effortlessly mimics the colour and texture of the wall behind it. Alternatively you can overlay your near-invisible widescreen with weather forecasts and newsfeeds, or even stream music. The new screens also feature dynamic backlighting and Bixby voice control, and range in size from 55 to 88 inches.
