A mere six months after Tag Heuer broke new ground with its well-intentioned if somewhat soulless smartwatch, the Carrera Heuer-01, it’s back on more familiar horological territory with the Heuer-02T. The world’s first COSC-certified Swiss tourbillon to come in at under 15,000 CHF, it not only houses the brand’s trademark chronograph but also shoehorns in a lightweight carbon and titanium tourbillon inspired by Tag’s wallet-wilting Monaco V4. A paean to mechanical minimalism, the Heuer-02T features a mere 12 modular components within its shock-proof 45mm case. A limited-edition version, The Black Phantom, is also available for a (relatively) reasonable 19,000 CHF. The times they are a-changin’.
