Teenage Brogue had to make do with a pair of belt-driven knockoffs but the appeal of the Technics 1200 turntable has never wavered. No surprise then, that we’re thrilled by the news that the all-new, much lusted after, SL-1200G deck will receive a full release later this year. The Grand Class SL-1200G still looks every inch the DJ design classic but has been completely reengineered with a 10mm thick aluminium top panel, four layered cabinet construction, brass and aluminum die cast platter and a ‘coreless’ direct drive motor that uses a high-precision sensors to help reduce any unwanted interference. Grown up Brogue won’t ‘make do’ this time around.
